What we do . . .
High School Program
Adult mentors and student mentees meet twice a week to receive guidance on general life issues, educational achievement, and preparation for their future as college students.
Weekly meetings encourage one-to-one and group relationships, providing opportunity for connection, personal growth and exploration.
Teen issues include: life skills, dating, bullying, drugs and alcohol abuse, personal health, relationships, self-esteem, as well as college and career options.
Each Sister to Sister mentee is matched with a mentor according to her unique needs. Each mentor is interviewed, trained and then matched according to her preferences and abilities. Every mentorship receives ongoing support and supervision.
The program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 5 and 7 p.m., at the Montclair High School Annex
Middle School and Elementary School Program
STS also has a mentoring programs in Montclair's three middle schools (Buzz Aldrin, Glenfield, and Renessaince) and in Charles H. Bullock and Hillside Elementary Schools. Our high school mentee's participation serve as mentors to the middle and elementary school girls, empowered to share their experiences and offer advice as a result of their participation in STS.
